Question 1

What is Openings?

Accepted Answer

Openings is measurement software built for window-treatment professionals. It brings rooms, openings, product-specific measurements, photos, notes and review together in one job.

Question 2

Who is Openings for?

Accepted Answer

Dealers, designers, measurers, installers, workrooms and teams who measure custom window treatments—especially anyone ready to move beyond paper sheets and scattered job notes.

Question 3

Is there a free trial?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Start a 14-day trial without a credit card at signup. Team collaboration requires a paid Team plan and isn't part of the trial.

Question 4

Do I need training before I can use Openings?

Accepted Answer

You can start with the guided measuring workflow and use in-app help or searchable help topics as questions come up.

Question 5

Can I use Openings on my phone?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Use Openings in a supported phone browser to measure and work on your project at the jobsite.

Question 6

Do I need an iPad?

Accepted Answer

No. A supported phone or computer works too. A tablet simply gives you more room to review a job or mark up a photo.

Question 7

Is Openings available in the App Store or Google Play?

Accepted Answer

Openings works on supported phones, tablets, and computers and can be added to your device for quick, app-like access. It is not currently distributed through the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Question 8

Does Openings work without internet?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can continue measuring supported projects already available on your device, and your pending changes can sync when you're connected again. Features that depend on online services, such as AI and integrations, still require a connection.

Question 9

What happens if I lose signal in the middle of a measure?

Accepted Answer

If your project is available on your device, you can continue supported measuring. Check pending-work status, then sync when your connection returns and follow any in-app warnings. Unsynced work can be lost if your device's site data is cleared.

Question 10

Does Openings support fractions?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Enter whole numbers, fractions or decimals, including common eighth- and sixteenth-inch measurements.

Question 11

Can I use a Bluetooth laser measuring device?

Accepted Answer

Devices that send measurements as Bluetooth keyboard input can enter values in supported Openings fields. Compatibility depends on the device and its input settings.

Question 12

Can I use Openings with a Leica DISTO?

Accepted Answer

Compatible Leica DISTO and other measuring devices that can send measurements as Bluetooth keyboard input can enter values directly into supported Openings fields. Openings does not currently remotely trigger the laser. Not all models are compatible.

Question 13

Can I measure in metric?

Accepted Answer

Openings is built around Imperial measurements. It does not currently offer a metric measuring mode or a metric conversion toggle.

Question 14

Can I create my own product templates?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Build reusable measuring workflows with product-specific fields, required measurements, mount details, formulas, comparisons and guidance.

Question 15

Can I start from an existing template?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Browse system templates and duplicate a supported template or one of your own to make it yours.

Question 16

Can templates be transferred?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Import or export supported template files to reuse your configurations.

Question 17

Can I take photos inside Openings?

Accepted Answer

Yes. On supported devices, take or upload a photo and attach it to its opening.

Question 18

Can I mark up photos?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Add arrows, dimensions, lines, drawings and text, then keep the marked-up image with its opening.

Question 19

Can I download project photos?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Download an individual photo, or use supported room and project ZIP downloads.

Question 20

Does Openings check my measurements?

Accepted Answer

Openings shows incomplete openings, missing required fields and configured comparison warnings. Optional AI-assisted review may spot unusual values. These are prompts to check your work, not a guarantee that a measurement is correct.

Question 21

Can Openings compare my order against the measure?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Upload a supported order-sheet PDF for assisted comparison with your project measurements. Review matches, mismatches and missing items yourself; Order Inspection doesn't replace your final check or guarantee every part of a document was read.

Question 22

Can I export my measurements?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Create a project measure-sheet PDF or export structured opening data to CSV.

Question 23

Can photos be included in the measure sheet?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Your project measure-sheet PDF can include available photos from the job.

Question 24

Can I export to CSV?

Accepted Answer

Yes. CSV exports structured opening information; it does not include notes or photo files.

Question 25

Does Openings integrate with Solatech?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Connect a supported Solatech account and send a supported project into your Solatech workflow. You send projects individually; it isn't continuous sync.

Question 26

Does disconnecting Openings delete my Solatech data?

Accepted Answer

No. Disconnecting Openings doesn't delete your existing Solatech records.

Question 27

Does Openings integrate with QuickBooks or Xero?

Accepted Answer

No direct QuickBooks or Xero connection is available. You can export structured opening data to CSV, but it isn't a ready-made accounting import.

Question 28

Can multiple people use Openings?

Accepted Answer

Yes. An active paid Team plan lets your company invite members and work on assigned projects. Team collaboration isn't included in the free trial.

Question 29

Can projects be assigned to specific people?

Accepted Answer

Yes. With paid Team access, assign projects to teammates and control who can access them.

Question 30

Can I control what teammates can manage?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Team roles and permissions help you decide who can manage company settings and projects.

Question 31

Do I need a credit card to start the trial?

Accepted Answer

No. You can sign up for the 14-day trial without a card. Paid Team access requires a subscription; checkout is separate.

Question 32

Can I pay monthly or annually?

Accepted Answer

Check the Pricing page for the billing intervals currently offered for your plan. Monthly and annual options depend on the active prices available when you subscribe.

Question 33

Can I cancel?

Accepted Answer

You can manage your paid subscription through the billing portal in your account.

Question 34

What happens if my paid access expires?

Accepted Answer

You can still view and export existing work, but editing and cloud sync are restricted until full access is restored.

Question 35

Is my project information stored in Openings?

Accepted Answer

Openings syncs supported project information with your account and keeps some work on your device for field use. Check sync status after working offline; local device storage isn't a backup.

Question 36

Can I download my information?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Download supported measure-sheet PDFs, opening-data CSV files, available photos and template files. These exports aren't a complete automatic backup-and-restore service.

Question 37

Do I have to use AI features?

Accepted Answer

No. You can measure without AI. Its optional tools can help with order review, measurement insights and visualization.

Question 38

Are AI measurement warnings guaranteed to be correct?

Accepted Answer

No. AI warnings are suggestions for you to investigate, not certified measurements.

Question 39

Are AI mockups exact representations of the finished treatment?

Accepted Answer

No. Mockups help you visualize an idea; they don't guarantee fabrication, fit, color or the finished treatment.
